The AccuCure Spot is an innovative illumination system based on high intensity LED technology. The AccuCure systems are intended for applications that require accurate, dynamic light-control, light delivery, and confirmation of light delivery. The desired operating intensity (or intensity profile) may be dialed manually or via a remote PC. A built-in radiometer monitors the delivered light output in real time. The radiometer readout may be displayed on an optional local display or communicated back to a remote PC. An optional closed-loop intensity controller is utilized to minimize short and long term light output drifts. The Acculight systems are fully functional turnkey devices including the optical head, controller unit, and power supply. These systems have a variety of applications including cure, adhesive, drying, and visualizations.
The optical head is based on high-intensity LED technology operating at single or multiple wavelengths of choice. It also contains collimating optics enabling more efficient light delivery. The entire optical head is packaged in a single enclosure and contains all the required electronics, optical, and cooling components.
The control unit contains the electronics to control the optical head intensity. It also contains a built-in radiometer to measure the irradiance (mW/cm2) of the delivered light in real time. The radiometer is calibrated with NIST traceability. The control unit also contains three interfaces to the outside world: manual, remote computer, and external trigger.
The manual interface allows the users to set the operating intensity of the optical head by a potentiometer. This is the most basic mode of operation of the AccuCure system. Alternatively, users may set the intensity using a remote computer equipped with the AccuCure software. The remote computer interfaces to the control unit via a standard USB port. An external trigger allows a simple relay closure to activate the light delivery.
